Arcade Fire make triumphant UK return

The band close their set by busking outside

Arcade Fire delighted their fans by finishing their first UK show since 2005 by busking outside tonight (January 29).

The Canadian outfit were performing at St John's Church in Westminster, the first of five sold-out London shows taking place this week.

And after apparently finishing their encore, they made their way onto the church steps outside to play an acoustic version of 'Wake Up' from their debut album 'Funeral'.

The band used the set to preview ten songs from their eagerly awaited second full-length record 'Neon Bible', out on March 5.

Among the new tracks played were set and album opener 'Black Mirror', 'Intervention', 'Black Wave/Bad Vibrations', 'Ocean Of Noise' and forthcoming single 'Keep the Car Running'.

The group also found time to plays some 'Funeral' classics, including that album's opener 'Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels)', which frontman Win Butler revealed was an audience request.

The set was:

'Black Mirror'
'Keep the Car Running'
'No Cars Go'
'Black Wave/Bad Vibrations'
'Haiti'
'My Body Is A Cage'
'Ocean Of Noise'
'Rebellion (Lies)'
'Intervention'
'Windowsill'
'Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels)'
'The Well And The Lighthouse'
'(Antichrist Television Blues)'
'Neighbourhood #3 (Power Out)'
'Wake Up'

Arcade Fire perform at the same venue tomorrow and Wednesday (January 30, 31) before playing Porchester Hall in the west of the city on Thursday and Friday (February 1, 2).
